You need to obtain the Commercial Audiovisual Content ROM FLLA License. Please download the Audiovisual Content ROM FLLA License Application and submit it to the Blu-ray Disc Association Licensing Office.

The fee for Commercial Audiovisual Content FLLA for ROM2 (for 2D) and ROM3 (for 3D)are $4,000 each for a licensed term of 5 years.

As an authoring house, you have the following options;

  1. Wish to do Only the 2D BD authoring service and wish to use BD Logo to advertise BD authoring service: You need to obtain BD-ROM2 FLLA under Commercial Audiovisual Content(CAV)
  2. Wish to do 2D and 3D BD authoring service and wish to use BD Logo and/or 3D BD Logo to advertise BD authoring service:: You need to obtain BD-ROM2 and ROM3 FLLA under CAV
  3. Wish to do 2D BD authoring service but not wish to use BD Logo to advertise BD authoring service: You do not need to obtain any licenses from us. However, you are required to do the following in order for your customers to be able to use BD logo on their contents or related materials - You must send all your authored data to one of our FLLA licensed replicator, who has pass the mandatory First Product Model Verification (FPMV) under an appropriate Profile of Commercial Audiovisual Content (CAV) . Please go to http://blu-raydisc.info/licensee-list/rom-certified-licenseelist.php under “BD-ROM Media Licensee (who have passed and Commercial Audiovisual Content Verification) List” to see which replicators have passed the FPMV under CAV (Profile 1.1. for 2D, Profile 2.0 for BD-Live, Profile 5.0 for 3D). You must let the replicator know that you are not a FLLA licensee, so the replicator needs to do the “Self-Test” using the mandatory Test Tools before they can replicate the contents

Once you obtain the appropriate license, you need to proceed with one of the followings;

  1. Wish to do 2D BD authoring and be able to send to ANY FLLA licensed replicator: You need to proceed with FPMV under Commercial Audiovisual Content (CAV) Profile 1.1. Once you pass the FPMV, you are required to do the “Self-Test” using the mandatory Test Tools every time before you send your authored contents to the replicator.
  2. Wish to do 2D and 3D authoring and be able to send to ANY FLLA licensed replicator: You need to proceed with FPMV under Commercial Audiovisual Content (CAV) Profile 5.0. Once you pass the FPMV, you are required to do the “Self-Test” using the mandatory Test Tools every time before you send your authored contents to the replicator.
  3. Wish to author 2D BD contents with BD-Live Function to ANY FLLA licensed replicator: You need to proceed with FPMV under CAV Profile 1.1 and Profile 2.0. Once you pass the FPMV, you are required to do the “Self-Test” using the mandatory Test Tools every time before you send your authored contents to the replicator.
  4. Wish to author 2D and 3D BD contents with BD-Live Function to ANY FLLA licensed replicator: You need to proceed with FPMV under CAV Profile 5.0 and Profile 2.0. Once you pass the FPMV, you are required to do the “Self-Test” using the mandatory Test Tools every time before you send your authored contents to the replicator.
  5. Wish to send your 2D BD authored contents ONLY to FLLA licensed replicator who have passed the FPMV under CAV Profile 1.1: You do not need to proceed with FPMV. However, you must let the replicator know that you have not passed the FPMV thus they must do the “Self-Test” using the mandatory Test Tools before they can replicate your contents.
  6. Wish to send your 3D BD authored contents ONLY to FLLA licensed replicator who have passed the FPMV under CAV Profile 5.0: You do not need to proceed with FPMV. However, you must let the replicator know that you have not passed the FPMV thus they must do the “Self-Test” using the mandatory Test Tools before they can replicate your contents.
  7. Wish to author 2D BD contents with BD-Live Function and wish to send ONLY to FLLA licensed replicator who have passed the FPMV under both CAV Profile 1.1 and Profile 2.0: You do not need to proceed with FPMV. However, you must let the replicator know that you have not passed the FPMV thus they must do the “Self-Test” using the mandatory Test Tools before they can replicate your contents.
  8. Wish to author 3D BD contents with BD-Live Function and wish to send ONLY to FLLA licensed replicator who have passed the FPMV under both CAV 5.0 and Profile 2.0: You do not need to proceed with FPMV. However, you must let the replicator know that you have not passed the FPMV thus they must do the “Self-Test” using the mandatory Test Tools before they can replicate your contents.
